From the time we met up with Michael our trip was just awesome. He met us on the lake at 6:00 a.m., he was just so ready to take us out to catch some fish. He really changed my way of fishing, taught me to fish and I caught fish! My brother also enjoyed the trip. I booked this for his birthday. He caught a big fish and also his first crappie, which he wanted so bad to catch, “he had a great time!”
I was so glad I booked this trip, also that I was able to be guided by Michael. I met him at the Sportsman’s Expo in Glendale.
Michael worked his tail off to teach me to fish, I have no patience. Michael really has a talent to guide; he was so professional yet friendly and patient. He made our first experience with a fishing guide truly a trip we will never forget. I will be looking at a future trip very soon.

Hello all, my name is Edmund Rivera I am the winner of the free half day fishing trip offered by Fisherman's Choice Pro Shop. I was blown away by this trip; we started at 1pm at Lake Pleasant. We were there until 6pm, my wife and daughter loved it.
My wife caught the biggest fish of the day, it was a ten lb carp. My daughter caught the most fish, she had a blast reeling them all in. Just the look on her face made it all worthwhile for me. But it would not be a fishing trip for me if I did not catch anything, so I had to get at least one, which I did! That one was actually a three pound six ounce striped bass.
Our guide was great. He answered all of our questions and made us feel completely comfortable on the water. He then gave us about an hour fishing lesson on how to use artificial bait. Where and when to use it and were to find the fish. Then he took us to two different spots and the fun began, within five minutes we were catching fish left and right. We were also given food and refreshments throughout the trip.
So if you are looking for a fun day with the family or just a day with the guys then you should give these trips a try I know that this free trip will not be the last trip for me, I am working on two more trips.

The adventure began when a local fisherman and friend recommended I check with a quality “Fishing Store” when I mentioned that I needed help organizing a ½ day fishing trip in mid-May. David Harr said he knows the people at Fisherman’s Choice and that they would know of some professional fishing guides. Finding a professional was really important and I was determined to find the right guy for our fishing adventure.
Dick and I have fished together for 30 years from Florida to Canada and have enjoyed every minute of our fishing experiences. We told Mike that we wanted him to put us on some hot fishing action and he told us that “He was just the man for the job”.
Mike was waiting for us at the boat ramp at the appointed time. He greeted us warmly and within 5 minutes we were on the first location that Mike had picked out. Once we were stopped Mike handed us some super equipment, baited our hooks, and we were fishing. Within the first 45 seconds we had our first nice fish, I landed a 3-4 pound striped bass. It was not long after that, that Dick hooked a nice one. The action was hot and we caught one after another for around an hour. When the action slowed a bit, Mike said it was time to move on and so we went to location number two that he had selected. Mike used his electronic equipment and his knowledge of the lake to put us right on top of the fish. We began immediately to catch fish. It was an incredible day of fishing and appreciating nature, Mike seemed to be having as much fun as we were.
In summary, it was one of the best days on the lake Dick and I have ever had and we have had hundreds. Mike’s professionalism, his equipment and his good nature are a combination that can’t be beat. I would recommend Mike and his company “Choice Fishing Adventures” to anyone who wants to have a great time having fun and catching fish.

Very positive fishing experience… many fish (stripers) and mostly nice size. Would highly recommend Choice Fishing Adventures to others! Our guide did his best to get us over fish and provide assistance as needed. We fished most of the half day (morning). He provided a tour of the lake at the end, but not as opposed to fishing!
It was a really beautiful day and good fishing. Our guide was personable and a skilled guide (and I have experienced many!)

I went out to Lake Pleasant with your guide, Mike Mcfarland in May. We fished all day and he showed me some new ways to fish. I had my old ways, but he never once told me I was fishing incorrect, he just showed me ways to improve it. He took his time with me and never rushed our day. We had no interruptions; it was very nice for someone to take the time to show me some new ways to catch fish. When I got home from fishing that afternoon I couldn’t stop telling my wife about the things that I learned and all the things that I thought we just weren’t doing the correct way. I have never been out with a guide before and I was a little worried about it. But after going out with Mike I would highly recommend it to anyone that is learning or is just unsure of themselves, it was great!

Our family really enjoyed our many boating trips to Lake Pleasant. We swim, picnic, relax, and fish; but we hadn’t been catching many fish until we met our guide from Fisherman’s Choice at a local Outdoorsman Show and decided to book a guided fishing trip with him as a wedding anniversary gift to each other.
The guide took us out fully equipped in his boat and began the day by teaching us the proper techniques for using the depth finder, rigging the rods, and casting with different baits and test lines. With his guidance we learned by doing it ourselves, while enjoying his conversation, knowledge, and sense of humor. We learned how to fish for bass spawning on beds, enjoyed the great lunch provided for us and then set about to an afternoon of fun and extremely productive striper fishing. It was a terrific day!!
We truly recommend this guide service for anyone who wants to learn how to be a better fisherman (fisherworman) or who just wants a great day of fishing. We have used what we were taught on several outings since and have been happy to be catching so many more fish and sharing this knowledge with family and friends.
